Our Commitment to Privacy

We are sensitive to the privacy issues raised by use of the Internet and we are committed to protecting your privacy.

Our policy is simple:  We will not disclose any information about you to any third party; we will not contact you unless you request us to; and, we will make every effort to use your information only as you choose.  The specifics are outlined below.

We collect no information about you, other than information automatically collected and stored, when you visit our web site unless you choose to provide information to us.  We will never sell, share, or rent this information.

Information Automatically Collected and Stored

When you browse through any web site, certain personal information about you can be collected.  Our web server (like many web servers) automatically collects and temporarily stores the following information about your visit:

bulletthe date and time of your visit;
bulletthe pages you visited or attempted to visit;
bulletyour IP address (an IP address is a number that is automatically assigned to a computer whenever it connects to the Internet or TCP/IP network ); and
bulletthe IP address of the web site you came from (e.g. 216.117.171.150 is the current address of Rocky Mountain Film Lab's home page).

A typical log entry looks like this: 216.117.171.150 - - [17/Jul/2007:12:21:47] "GET /process.htm HTTP/1.1" 200 15244

The first number is the IP address from which the computer accessed our website.  The second part is the date and time of the access.  The final items identify how the computer tried to access our site (GET or PUT), what page was accessed (in this case "process.htm"), whether the page was loaded successfully or not ("200" means that it was, "404" means the page was not found) and the size of the page in bytes.  We do not track what you, as an individual, look at.

We use this information for statistical purposes, to identify problems and to help us make our site more useful to visitors.  Unless it is specifically stated otherwise, no additional information will be collected about you.  This information is destroyed on a regular basis, except for aggregate statistics (i.e. we track what pages are popular, IP addresses are not retained).

Personally Provided Information

You do not have to give us information to visit our web site.

If you choose to provide us with additional information about yourself through an email message, form, survey, etc., we will only maintain the information as long as needed to respond to your question or to fulfill the stated purpose of the communication.  We will never sell, share, or rent this information.

Disclosure

Rocky Mountain Film Lab does not disclose, share, rent, give, sell or transfer any information about you, except in the unlikely event we are required to comply with a court order or search warrant.

Cookies

We do not use cookies or store any information on your computer.  (A cookie is a piece of data stored on your computer containing information about you.  Cookies, if properly used, pose no privacy threat to a user.)

Intrusion

We have appropriate security measures in place in our physical facilities to protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of information that we have received from you.

We use a reputable hosting company that values security.

Advertising

We do not partner with or have relationships with any ad server companies.

Links to Other Sites

We provide links to other sites.  Once you link to another site, you are subject to the privacy policy of the new site.  We do not warn you that you are leaving our site.
